Garsdale Station and signal box
Leave Garsdale Station and turn left along Coal road (2 miles). Turn left along the footpath (sign-posted Widdale) and after 1 ½ miles turn right down Arten Gill passing under viaduct to reach minor road. Turn left and proceed along road (1 mile). At Bridge End Cottage bear right crossing river and then left on to footpath and pass through farm yard and to the right hand side of Blea Moor Tunnel entrance.
Arten Gill Viaduct
Follow the steep path through forest and upon emerging from trees continue past several ventilation shafts eventually descending hillside to meet the path from Whernside. Follow surfaced track passing Blea Moor signal box and back to Ribblehead.
