Walking in the Yorkshire Dales

This is split into several sections covering my favourite walking areas

Littondale in Winter / Malham Cove

The Yorkshire Dales provide one of the best walking areas in the country covering a wide variety of scenery and some isolated locations. I have included the walks which I do on a regular basis together with a number of photographs. Included in the section are walks in the vicinity of Ribblehead , covering the Three Peaks area;  Wharfedale , the most popular walking location in the Dales;  Nidderdale   which provides a few excellent upland walks;  Washburn Valley  outstanding scenery and reservoirs but yet close to Leeds;  Swaledale with it's scenery and mining heritage;   Ilkley Moor   with open moorland and carved rocks;  Middleton Fells an upland area on it's own between the Dales and the Lake District;  Malham a much visited area; and finally  Coverdale an off-shoot of Wensleydale

Family Cycle Trails

This section covers a few trails mainly in the midlands and north of England which are suitable for families and those who prefer a quieter or traffic free roads without severe gradients
